Studies show that switching to whole grain is an effective way to become more healthy. These whole grains are a great source of fiber and other healthy ingredients. They take just a little while to get used to but there is nothing but benefits to come out of the change. "White Carbs" do not provide the same nutrients that are found in the whole grains.
Rice and breads tend to have an ingredient which is called enriched wheat flour or enriched grains. Many people can be deceived by this ingredient. The idea is to make the consumer think that there are actually the same minerals as in the whole grain products. It is important to not make the mistake. Make sure to check out the ingredients so that you will not fooled by the producers.
Switching to whole grains is not a diet type of thing. There has to really be a lifestyle change. A person has to truly want to become more healthy. Sometimes just adding a few things that are whole grain into your diet can help you. It is important to just take it one step at a time. Please look into the ingredients of the "white carbs". It is important that everyone be informed about enriched products.
Honestly I am so used to eating whole grains, having white bread is odd for me. I grew up on whole grain and I think its so easy to put into your diet, and I find it tastes better with a lot of sandwiches and pasta dishes. Making it a habit instead of a diet is such good advice. Many people stray off diet. Lifestyle changes, they stay on.
ReplyDeleteI think many parents should just introduce whole grain first, and ignore white grain unless necessary (not that I can think of a necessary reason for it). Doing this will just add to their child's healthy future.
Very educational, love the healthy advice, I should continue to read your blog because I do not eat very healthy. Good to know that rice and beans do not have the same ingredients in whole grain products, I did not know that! but then again I'm not very much into health and ingredients, I should start being more aware.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I enjoy eating whole grain because I eat it all the time. It doesn't feel like I'm even on a diet. This is very helpful advice for those who don't eat whole grain foods.
