Get Rest!

It is not uncommon that most people do not get the amount of rest that they need. It is very important to get to sleep at a decent hour so that you are able to feel refreshed in the morning. Sometimes with school and work it is very difficult to do this. At times when I wake up, I feel like I just laid down.

Sleep is something that most people are deprived from due to many different reasons. School work, working, or even having children can cause deprivation of sleep. It is very difficult to put a certain time aside to go to sleep but at times, other things happen that make this impossible

The body is not made to function for long periods of time without enough sleep. Many students leave homework of studying to the last minute and stay up late so that they can finish assignments. This leaves them with maybe about 3 hours of sleep. No person can function properly or be alert while sleeping this little. I urge you to try to lengthen your amount of sleep tonight!

  1. I could not agree more! My mom always made sure my sister and I got at least 8 hours of sleep growing up. Now this healthy habit has carried on to my adult life. Even though I find myself not having the time to sleep I always try to make it a top priority. The best remedy for feeling good is sleep. Loved this post.

  2. I agree! I recently had a baby, sleep is sacred. Prior to becoming a mother I always believed as adults we should nap at least once a day. In high school, NYC mandated that all schools have a "meditation" period within gym class once a week, because studies proved that students are losing more and more sleep by the day. I personally LOVED when we can just sleep for an hour and return to the bustling schedule of high school activities. I also began to work part time in high school, which further deprived me of sleep. Now, I use my two hour breaks on tuesdays and thursdays to catch up on some reading and some zzz's! Resting should not be taken for granted, the body suffers in many ways due to the deprivation of sleep! Glad you brought this up! =)
